Is your business experiencing bad weather? Do you feel like you’re stuck in neutral? Do you want to shift gears to the next level?
Yes, that is a rhetorical question. However, as business owners we are extremely busy and struggle to keep a balanced life. Most business owners will eventually face a defining moment in their life. One which will either kill their business or leapfrog their business to another level. The question is, should you wait until you are forced to make the change or find ways to continuously improve yourself and your business?
Here are some signs that you need help:
have very little time for yourself or your family
constantly “putting out fires” in the business
sales have increased but net income has not
everything looks calm on the surface but you’re paddling like crazy under the water (like a duck)!
Whether it is in our personal life or in our business life, we will never know the answer to every challenge that comes our way. We make mistakes and we learn from them. Should we endure making more mistakes on our own just to learn from them or is there a better solution?
Do you want to be massively profitable in your business and leapfrog your competition?
If you are still thinking about it…then think about this:
How has your business been in the last 12 months or the past 5 years?
How has that worked out for you?
If you do nothing different today, what results are you guaranteed to have in the next 5 years?
Isn’t it time you consider doing something different?
Failure is not:doing what you need to do to get the results that you want to achieve. Failure is:not accepting the fact that you don’t know everything and struggle alone rather than reach out for help.
Growing your business is difficult when you are in business for yourself. Ironically, most successful business owners understand that you don’t have to do the business by yourself.
Common challenges that most business owners and sales professional experience that I can help with:
not understanding their target market
not effective in attracting their ideal client
not being able to see if their business is heading down the right path or not
unable to brand themselves or distinguish themselves against their competition
unable to be pro-active enough and being affected by external events
Many business owners face dire consequences and make unnecessary mistakes by struggling on their own. Apathy or complacency or both will eventually set in and kill their business. A business does not grow base on hope.
What can we do for you?
One of the things we do to help business owners grow their business is by clarifying what their business is and why they’re in business. We help them to better understand their business and define their core values. One of the biggest mistake that most business owners and sales professional usually make is that they are always trying to please everyone. By trying to please everyone, they alienate the very people that were their core client. The clients that make them the most money.
This is not something new. in 1906, an Italian economist Vilfredo Pareto developed the Pareto principle. He had observed that 80% of lands were owned by 20% of the population and the same rule applies in his garden where 20% of the pea pods contained 80% of the peas. How does this apply to your business? If you really look at your client base and observe your profit level. You will realize that 80% of you profits are coming from 20% of your top clients. What is more staggering is that 80% of your “problem” clients only gives you 20% of your profit.
My question to you is, why try to please everyone? André Gide once said, “You better be hated for what you are than be loved for what you are not.” The most outstanding business understand this fact and do not care about anyone else other than their target market. They only cater to their most loyal fan or clientbase. They don’t make a point of pleasing everyone and they don’t have to.
Companies like Apple and Lululemon are not after everyone’s business. They only target a very small fraction of the market and yet they are extremely profitable. Compare that to other giants in the same industry that caters to everyone else. Other industry giants sell more but they will never be as profitable. Even giants will fall or be bought out by the underdog with the bigger treasure chest.
